Honey, Vodka & Gold

HONEY, I MELTED ALL THE AWARDS….

A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY FOR DRINKERS TO ENJOY 42BELOW VODKA

42BELOW Vodka is inviting bar-goers up and down the country to indulge in some Kiwi-style honest drinking with the roll out of its new 24 carat Golden Cups. The markets might be saying now is the time to invest in gold but, instead, those cheeky fellas at 42BELOW are literally giving it away…one cup at a time at bars such as Callooh Calley, Mojo, Bobar & My Hotel (from today).

On discovering that 42BELOW could rightfully claim to be ‘the world’s most awarded Vodka’ they decided to hide the evidence, melt down all the medals and make some super-shiny drinking vessels for their favourite stockists here in the UK. A true display of ‘upside-down logic’ you might think, but the Egyptians and Romans also insisted on drinking the finest spirits from cups made of precious metal.

And to fill the cups with a worthy cocktail, 42BELOW Vodka Professor Jacob Briars has designed the Honey Bear - a twist on the classic Moscow Mule. Created using 42BELOW Manuka Honey, he added ginger beer, fresh lime juice and a dash of Angostura bitters, finished off with a sprig of mint.  Warming spice balances against sweet honey and rounded Vodka notes for a smooth and tangy finish.

While a jar of deliciously runny Manuka Honey can set you back £55, luckily the nice blokes at 42BELOW Vodka (who have been making honest drinks since 1999) have come up with their Golden Cups….so you can still get a taste of the good life for the price of a great cocktail.

How to make the Honey Bear cocktai:

50ml 42BELOW Manuka Honey Vodka
3 wedges of lime
Mint sprig
Angostura bitters
Ginger beer

Serve In a highball glass add lime and bitters
Then fill with ice, add the vodka
Top with ginger beer.
Stir and serve.
Garnish with a mint sprig.
